Angry RECALL for the CB300R announced

Just saw a recall listed for the 2019 CB300R...
NHTSA Recall # 19V-412

Involves "a circlip that secures the transmission gear to the main shaft could detach and result in gear misalignment"
"Can shift into gear during engine start, or seize the transmission while motorcycle is in motion."

You can input your VIN on the Honda website (powersports.honda.com) or call 866-784-1870

Called my dealership today and the parts are a week out. The book rate is 8 hours so it's quite a bit of work.

My dealer called me, set up appointment to bring it bike in on 7/23. I trust this guy to do a great job.
Lucky I have my XSR700 Yamaha to ride while the sun is shining.

Just dropped mine off as well. It's an engine off repair. They already did 4 new bikes on their lot.

If I go to Honda's recall notice website, https://powersports.honda.com/recalls, and put my VIN in the box I get an indistinct "potential recall issue" notice. The site tells me I can get more accurate info by entering my VIN, which I already did. This doesn't help me at all. I have to rely on a mailed letter from Honda? Is that it? Letter delivery isn't very reliable in my neighborhood.

Call your dealer, maybe he can get accurate info regarding your VIN.

I didn't have to do that. I checked my vin on the website then called my dealer. They did the rest. No letter needed.

Point is, Honda knows which bikes are affected. So why doesn't their recall website give a straight-up YES or NO answer when I enter my VIN? Instead it gives a wishy-washy, mealy-mouthed maybe that's zero help and a waste of time.
